I couldn't help myself! I had both a 30% off coupon and a $5 credit at my bookstore. I actually bought three books, but one is a gift so I'm not counting that one. In all, I spent only $5 out of pocket, so I guess that's not too bad for a trip to the bookstore.
So what did I buy?
Water Ghosts: A Novel
The book takes place in 1928 and is about Chinese immigrants who come to live in California in a town on the Sacramento River.
I don't know when I'll get to reading this book, but I'm happy to add it to my collection.
Housekeeping: A Novel
"Housekeeping is the story of Ruth and her younger sister, Lucille, who grow up haphazardly, first under the care of their competent grandmother, then of two comically bumbling great-aunts, and finally of Sylvie, their eccentric and remote aunt."
This novel was also the winner of the Pen/Hemingway Award as well as being noted as a National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Selection. Yet another book on my shelf I'm looking forward to reading.
This brings my bookshelf count to 315 books. And...I still have room!
