...and then my life was turned upside down...

Okay....maybe not completely upside down but it definitely made a 45 degree pivot.

Then another one.

And possibly one more.

That would put me upside down, right?

The last 15 months have been nothing like what I would have expected or wished for anyone to endure, but it explains why I haven't read many books.  With that in mind, I decided it was time to re-focus the blog I started to incorporate the many new things taking up space on my already stuffed shelves.

10 books I didn't read this year

I didn't get to read as many books in 2012 as I would have liked, but I had some really good excuses: a ton of work, crazy mother-in-law issues (not going any further than that, just trust me on that one), a child who has been getting chemo treatments (he's doing well and will be fine...thank you for your concern), and a number of other distractions.  All in all, though, I was able to read 20 books which ain't too bad with all things considered.

So instead of retracing the books I did read, I thought I'd give you a quick list of 10 books I didn't read and had it been any other year, I would have completed them.

50 things I thought while reading 50 Shades of Grey

I kicked off my summer of pop culture reads with E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey trilogy.  It's been the talk of multiple talk shows and slowly become part of the current lingo.  Some are even predicting a 50 Shades baby boom some time next Spring.  For me, it was humorous, hot, and honestly sweet at times.

With all this in mind, I thought I'd compile a list of 50 things I thought while reading 50 Shades of Grey.

Now keep a couple things in mind.  First, this post may be considered R rated due to language and sexual content.  So if you're under 17, ask your parents first before reading.

...which is why I haven't been writing....writing...writing.  But at least I'm reading, right?
